As a child I used to come back with my pockets full of pebbles found on the way. This hasn't changed since, it is my own little collection, dozens of carefully chosen pebbles, carrying memories dear to my heart. So to never lose them, I decided to make an edition of them. It so happens that my friend Zoé has also started her own collection of shells since her childhood. So we decided to combine our respective collections in the same edition, reminding us of the journey we made and the one we are doing together. This book has two entries, the pebbles on one side and the shells on the other, two directions of reading that meet in the centre, leaving room for the "real" cover. Because we chose our items for different reasons (shape, texture, colour, memory, detail) we have established a grid so that each characteristic fit in its place, allowing us to highlight the reasons that made us keep these relics in the first place. And since in the case of our collections touch is central, the edition is composed of seven papers, ranging from bouffant laid to gloss coated, so that the experience can be lived right down to your fingertips. In short, we have created a space for our memories to exist outside our heads. Blessed be the pebbles (and the shells). In collaboration with Zoé Milhau.
